Why plant Native?

Non-native varieties of the kind that dominate nurseries can sever the food web. Many are invasive pests which out compete native species, degrading habitat in remaining natural areas.

In contrast, native species are adapted to the local landscape, requiring less water and once established, little maintenance. Planting natives allow you to beautify your outdoor areas while contributing to a healthy ecosystem where birds, pollinators, and other animals will thrive.
